Schools across the Netherlands regularly make trips by bike. We've often caught this on video and you can even find examples on Google Maps.

Here's the picture from Google Maps. Note the cycle-paths, which are what enable children of all ages to cycle like this. It's not perhaps obvious, but these are primary school aged children. Between 5 and 11 years old. Primary schools often make trips by bike, to the city centre, to villages outside the city, to sport facilities, to natural areas...
